Post Ott Droplinks are on

Well - Louie got me the offset droplinks today - in time for the AX tommorrow! Got 'em put on and adjusted pretty firm. (1st one took about 45 minutes...the next 3 in less than that TOTAL!)...ahhh....experience...)

What a difference...after ragging around and braking hard a few times - I got the suspension to settle back down...then drove on a few twistys...Wow - car is MUCH flatter and....can you say "OVERSTEER!?!" The AX tomorrow should be LOTS of fun. Gonna wag my big butt shark around some cones!

Scott -

I know that 928 Spec sells them, but they were out. I got them directly from Louie Ott (He also makes the exhaust crossover that I LOVE!). You can email him at louisott@cs.com. He has a website at http://www.performance928.com/ (but - it appears to be down right now??)

They were a little over $300 for all 4 corners.

They are adjustable, they work "by relocating the upper drop link mounting point closer to the pivot point of the sway bar, the Sway Bar Adjustable Drop Link decreases the leverage action of the drop link on the sway bar. This simple change increases the pressure needed to flex/twist the sway bar and causes the sway bar to act like a stiffer/thicker sway bar. "

Hey mark do you have any higher-resolution shots of your car? That sure is a nice paint job!

Thanks Mark,

I am familiar with the 928 Spec. links. I just didn't know Louie mfg. them. The drop links are definitely on the to-do list.

Thanks for the info and pic.

Thanks Toe,

The wheels are 17" Boxter S takeoffs. I originally wanted Cup wheels but I tried these on and the wheels really set the car off with their sharp lines. ..... Now I need to paint the calipers.

I live in North Dallas near Plano and Richardson.

We have a group of great 928 guys here and we get together several times a year for drinks, socializing and general BS. We have a yahoo group called DFW928. Check it out. The post address is: dfw928@yahoogroups.com

BTW, I make it to Austin twice per month. PM me your contact info and we can connect up and talk sharks.

AX yesterday - really the 1st day for driving the car w/the droplinks on....took me a few runs to get the feel and develop the 'trust' of the added cornering ability.
Finally started to get used to them - dropped over 3.5 seconds over the course of THREE runs!!

Got 2nd in the class of 6 or 7(944 took 1st).
BUT - I did edge out the Ferrari 308 for a trophy!

I can't wait to get some more runs with these on (DE next month!!). There was a lot more ability to wag that big butt around the cones. :-)
