If those came from a 928 they should have tire pressure sensors in them. Otherwise they would be from some other Porsche model of the time. Check the sizes - they should be wider than the forged flat dish wheels your car came with.
Yes, they are "Design 90" wheels. Standard on '90-'91 GTs, optional on '90 S4's, and I believe standard on '91 S4's also. I just had
mine chromed by WheelEnhancement.....not cheap, but they do VERY good work. Nicole is right, the Design 90 wheels for the 928 were different then any other Porsche wheel. They are 7.5" in front and 9" in the rear. They will also have holes in them for tire pressure sensors. The offset is different than any other Porsche model
also.
These are the polished wheels my car came with when I bought it, not sure they're Design 90's, I was told they were by the PO, sold them the day after I got the car:

Those look suspiciously like CS rims...if they were ..and were the correct sizes...(ie 8"front and 9"rear)..they are worth about 1K on the open market..
Hope you recognized that...or the purchaser knows... ;-)

Agree Tom! I would have never sold those. They are easily the best wheels for a pre GTS car. Even if I had 17" wheels, I would go BACK to the CS wheels.....light, strong, good looking, and not seen everyday.
Not sure about the sizes yet. I'll check in the morning. They have the pressure sensors. Tom, what would be the difference between the CS and the design '90 rims, the size?
A buddy 928 driver gave em to me. He got the cup2 replica's on his. He's still not sure what he wants to charge me. He said to try em on for size first. I'm not sure what to pay either.
The CS wheels, which were standard on the '89 GT models, are forged. The Design 90 wheels, which were standard on the 90 and 91 GT as well as the 91 S4 are cast. If you have the tire pressure sensor, you can be sure these are the right wheels for the 928 - because no other Porsche model had the sensors on this type of wheel (the only other Porsche model with tire pressure sensors was the 959, and those wheels were quite different...)
In terms of the look, the inner part of the Design 90 wheels is "recessed", while the Club Sport wheels are almost like flat dish with larger vents. In other words, the Club Sport have a cleaner, smoother design. Because they are forged, they are also stronger and most likely lighter as well.
I believe that if you would order a new Club Sport wheel from Porsche today, you'd pay around or over US$1,000 for one.
I was actually talking about Erik Dvoraks pic..his look like CS rims. As Nicole points out..yours are the design 90s (as verified by your widths. Still much better looking than the flats...
