Question Which Brake Pads are Low Ugly Dust???

Sharks:

Which brake pads will keep my wheels shiny? Current pads make the aluminum alloy rims look dingy quickly after I polish them to a mirror like shine. I have heard that Axxis, Metal Masters produce no brake dust. I would be happy with little, or not ugly black dust. Beauty, and low maintenance are more important than performance on my daily driver.

What do ya' think?

Same reply as on Phil's board. Metal Masters are the lowest for dust. Braking is OK for street use.

I had the same problem until I refinished my wheels.

Question

Hi Randy,

They look great. Were they originally polished aluminum or painted?

They were chrome over polished aluminum. The PO had them chromed, but they were flaking and pitted, and looked pretty crappy.

The Wurth's paint system (comes in an aerosol can by the way) perfectly matches the Porsche silver-metallic that is used on other Porsche OEM wheels.

I must acknowledge JP Rodkey of the Rennlist 928 Discussion List for pointing me to the Wurth products as a relatively easy way to refurbish my tired original wheels.

They look so nice now that it's hard to abandon them in favour of some aftermarket 17" wheels.
