Default Ft. Wheel Bearing Inner Race Seating

I'm the process of replacing my front wheel bearings. The outer race dropped in with no problems with the oven/freezer trick. I am wondering about the inner race. The old one and the new one was/is not seated all the way to the inside of the hub center. The race sits about a 1/4 inch above the center of the hub. Is the race suppose to seat all the way down?

Also, does anyone know what the torque on the caliper carrier bolts is?

you should be able to heat the hub and the outer race should drop right in, if this is not happeneing reheat the hub to about 225 deg. F. and tap out the race and let the hub cool and see what the problem is if the hub/bearing seat is scarred or otherwise damaged you may be able to fix it with a stone or light sanding. Also check the bottom of the spindle where the inner race rides if its scarred or damaged it will let play into the wheel /hub , dont try to over tighten the wheelbearing to remove this play it will onlyu damage the bearing once it gets hot tighten the wheel bearing so the washer will slide back and forth with a slight push , not by prying
