Well, I am back, but this time with another problem that has developed with my 87 S4. Now the air conditioning has gone completely. To the point where the low pressure switch has shut off the compressor.
I took it to a local air conditioning shop and had it tested. They told me I have a massive leak in the front evaporator.
My question to you guys is-do I have to pull the entire dash to access that evaporator, or can I get to it by just removing the center console?
The good news is I have completed the timing belt/water pump change, fixed all the electrical problems, tuned it up with new distributor caps and rotors, new filters, general clean up and repair of the interior, and now its looking like a 'shark' should!!!
I will now tackle the air conditioning problem, and appriciate you help. Also, should I consider the upgrade to R134, or leave it as is.
Thanks again for all the help, you guys have been great.
