Post Torque Tube removal

1984 928 5 speed. All access to TT bolts has been cleared and all TT bolts have been loosened EXCEPT
the 2 top bolts where the TT attaches to the clutch housing. I can get a socket on the bolts but have only a few mm of wrench movement, what am I missing here. Also, based on sage advise from those who actually know what they are doing - I am leaving the clutch and tranny in place, I was advised to simply loosen the tranny bolts so it can be slid back to allow the TT to be dropped.
Can I assume that the required bolts will be obvious and that I return the tranny to its' current placement -fore and aft? Workshop manuals are enroute to me so doing this from a "this seems to make sense". Actually the biggest time consumer so far was building the 2 x 4 stands to get the baby up high enough to work under - my kingdom for a lift!

Those top 2 are the hard ones. I found I was spending more time dealing with them than if I removed the clutch and had good acess. My advice is to remove the clutch.
