Default Black and Blue Fuel Pumps? Why?

Is there any significance in the color of Bosch 928 fuel pumps? I've seen both black and blue. Someone once mentioned a green one but I can't verify that. Then there are the aluminum cased ones that may or may not be Chinese.

When matching Bosche FP numbers to different 928s, is there a key? Are most interchangeable?

I just replaced the pump on my 90 GT and it was just the standard stainless or polished steel housing.

That pump was a porsche factory pump to btw
