So an update:

I pulled out the wire out of the replacement used sensor and compared it to the old one from my car. I figured that i would take the best parts from both sensors that i had so i pulled the wiring from my bad float sensor and put it into the replacement with the good float and reinstalled it.

Now it works, no more check coolant warning. (below are pics of all the parts, the wire with the black top is the one that works, notice the difference in height of the small glass bubble, it looks like both of these were re-soldered at some point. I believe the height of the bubble is critical to the sensor working properly.)

But now i notice that the car's idle fluctuates. I have only started the car about 10 times since it was put in and previously it would idle perfect. Now i change that wire from what i would think is an entirely different system and now the idle fluctuates. I removed the upper ait filter lid and thats it. Perhaps it crooked or something. It looks pretty good to me, any ideas on this new issue?

Now that the water signal is correct could it be a temp II sensor that previously may have been bypassed when the engine thinks there isnt enough coolant? Any thoughts on this?

A good starting point is to disconnect the battery which will force the LH to relearn, and may clear up the idle problem.

No. According to the wiring diagrams, one output of the Temp II sensor goes to the LH, and the other output goes to the EZK. The coolant level is not listed on the engine wiring diagram.

To test the Temp II sensor, goto page 24 -14, Test point 4. Measure the resistance between LH pins/terminals 13 and 5 or 17 (..5 and 17 are both grounds), and the resistance should fall within a range listed in the manual, dependent upon temperature.

But before doing all that, disconnect the battery first to see if that fixes your idle problem.

vacumn lines were previously checked before the intake was installed.

I will try and disconnect the battery for a few hours and see if that works.

Thanks for the help on the previous issue too BTW. Somewhere you mentioned those probes and immediately i remembered that they werent connected.
