I don't understand how that can go on the 928. The airbox cover is completely different; obviously indicating a custom air filter. But, 2 MAF kits and 2 throttle bodies on the car? Am I seeing this right??? This looks like its gonna be REALLY EXPENSIVE

What is even worse, there is no "flappy" ... how can we have a 928 S4 or newer car with no flappy?

I think there would be some trade-off with a 32-valve motor by eliminating the two-stage resonant intake system.

I'm just happy to see more people starting to produce parts for our cars. The more aftermarket manufacturers, the better... They seem to have a lot of custom cams and pistons and engine packages as well. I guess with any new product, I would be interested in seeing Dyno numbers, to see what the supposed increases are...

Rich: I had exactly the same thought: Where is the flappy?

I'm glad to see parts but man that thing is ugly. I've seen plenty of sheet metal intakes but few that ugly.

high carbon or did you mean to say high dollar? My guess is that it will cost almost as much as a supercharger kit.

Shall we all venture some guesses on the price?

I'll start: $3500

Horespower gains? very few on an unmodified engine.

it definately looks better than that catastrophy that came stock on my '85.

Rich, when you say "flappy", I assume you mean the butterfly.

Do you think the butterfly's are in the air tubes?. I think the fiber intake looks cool. It looks like a prop from the movie ALIENS.

This pictures could be from the racing intake. The bonnet will need to be cut because of the volume of the manifold.
Other "stages" of the manifold, including "street" ones (same volume as the original to keep it under the bonnet) are in the works.
There is no need to have a flappy valve, the design makes this intake resonant without it.
The cost will be about USD 3200.
HP gains? Unknown at this stage but I sure hope for 30 HP in an unmodified late series 928. This engines are very starved.
On a modified car with exhaust and cams it could be very, very, wild.
Im not affiliated with 928 developments. Im just a future customer.

I'm also looking forward to what this new intake will do for us. I would disagree though that this can't fit under the hood. It doesn't look any taller than a stock intake and the filter housing looks like it is designed to scoop the air from the front of the radiator. We'll have to cut out the top of the fan shroud and remove the smog pump filter - maybe the smog pump hose can just hook into this filter housing. Not being a FI expert, it will be interesting to see how you hook up 2 MAFs instead of 1. Might be easy, I'll let Phil figure it out! Looks awesome to me - can't wait to see some performance analysis.

On a second look..., you are rigth. It seems like an intake designed to fit under the hood.
