Default Cap and Rotor? (and circuit boards - RW)

When I went to replace my Cap and Rotor on my 82 Euro S the new one didn't match the old one... I found out that I currently have a 6500 rpm rev limiter. I was wondering if this is commonplace in my car. The guy at the automotive shop said it wasn't.

Thanks for any and all input.

Russell

P.s. Is there any place where I can buy a printed circuit board for my car?
