Greasing the bushings
I recently completed a motor mount and oil pan gasket exchange on my '90 S4. When putting everything back together I safeguarded against some potential corrosion on some of the components using some high pressure grease that I had. I noticed that there was some light surface corrosion starting where the front sway bar bushing rests against the body. I decided to apply some grease liberally between the busing and the body. I did the same for the lower control arm bushing just before bolting the U-bracket up.
I'm starting to question that now. I realize that petroleum based products typically degrade rubber prematurely. Should I disassemble that, clean everything up and reassemble or will this high pressure grease be OK. The product indicates that it's recommended use is for bushings and chassis assembly. Any thoughts?

I would clean out the grease from the lower control arm bushing is a press fit and with grease it will allow the possibility that the arm cam move in its clamped position, along with the pospect that the grease will over time destroy the rubber bushing, or make it soft

Control arm bushings ... dry
Stabilizer arm bushings ... teflon based grease ( eg. Magnalube-G ) between the bar and the bushing so that the rubber does not bond to the bar - OK on the clamp/body side too. Petroleum base will do what mrmerlin says ....
