Hello! I've been lurking for a little while and just thought I would ask for some opinions. My dad is getting a new Porsche for his birthday (unbeknowst to him, lucky man!) and when I heard what the dealer was offering as trade in value for his 1986 928S I decided to sell my Alfa Spider and upgrade. The car has 32k miles and runs great. Problems include a few electrical gremlins (e.g. radio not working, sunroof recently stuck open, maybe wipers not working). The only cosmetic issues are the leather dash (the part closest to the windshield needs replacing) and needing a new cargo cover. The paint is serviceable. [One more thing I forgot to mention. It was in an accident in the late 80's when my dad was hit by a drunk driver , but it was repaired and suffered from no discernable side effects from that. Not a salvage title.]
I don't know offhand if it is an early or late 86. I saw another thread here with a chart that had the 86 prices as ranging from $7k to $11k. Anyway, I was hoping for some opinions on what this car might be worth. Thanks in advance!
(Oh, I also noticed a couple guys are in the Cincinnati area. Do you have a regular mechanic you recommend?)

Best guy here in town is Steve Morris who used to have his own shop, but now works for Auto Livery up in Ross, Ohio. He does a limited amount of work because most of his time is spent prepping trade ins for their lot. You can call them and ask specifically for Steve.
I trust very few people with my car, but I found Steve to be straightforward, very honest and not a rip-off like most Porsche repair shops. Steve's old shop was Montgomery Motorsports. He did a lot of Porsche, MB, BMW, Saab, Volvo and Ferrari...Steve is a good mechanic.
He did the syncros in my 81 two years ago.

Thanks, John. I will look into the Auto Livery.
Just curious, I remember seeing that one of the Cincinnati guys here has a supercharged 928. Was that you? [Never mind, I just saw your twin turbo post. ]
