Cold Running Problem
Hi
After many months and post I have a new problem.
in the past the car had no power but started and ticked over perfectly when hot or cold.
NEW Porblem
When warm the cars runs very well, plently of torque and power, its a pleasure to drive.
Problem is when its cold it fires, when it does start the tickover goes upto 1800 rpm then drops back to 1000 then 600 then it dies.
I can hardly rev it at all and if i warm it up on the throttle and by driving, when its warm, tick over is perfect and everything is good again.
When its cold I cant really adjust the idle either.
Its got no obvious vacuum leaks on the engine bay (all new pipes and clips) it has new fuel system pump, WUR etc
Any clues would be appreciated
The car is the 1982 Euro 928S
4664cc
NO Cat
Nearly no exhaust!!
CIS K jetronic Injection
Thanks
Paul

Jack,
It sounds like it may be a fuel leakdown at the coldstart injector. May also want to check your thermo time switch for the proper resistance between the connectors and check each connector for a short to ground. Sounds like the AAV is working due to the high rpm at start up. Have you adjusted your air fuel mixture?

Found the problem.
The bottom screw for the cold start valve has lost part of its thread so although it appears tight, when the hose is fitted to the air pipe on the fitting the screw moves out a little causing a small air leak.
Retapped the thread with a slightly larger thread, a new bolt and its done.
Found by chance sorry to say but its a relief to have solved the problem
