So, they made about 52,000 928s in 18 years... today they announced the 100,000th 997 since April of 2004.
Now consider that the 997 shares so many more parts with other Porsches and is much more efficient to manufacture - leaving a hefty profit for every car sold.
That should explain why they are not that much interested in making more 928s...
