Belly pan bolts
Hello,
Bought my first shark 1989S4. The previous owner changed the oil and didn't put the plastic belly pan/inspection cover back on. I have the pan but no atttachment hardware. I figured out the size of the screws that attach it to the mental portion and to the front plastic valence. What I am having trouble is what are the size of the two bolts the attach the cover to the cross member? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks James

Don't know offhand, but a lister sells sets of bolts on ebay. As a new owner, you will probably be accumulating lots of this kind of stuff. Boltdepot.com or Harbor Freight have kits of bolts, etc. Almost everything HF has is made in China, might want to be selective there.

Do a search for Rob Budd. He sells the RIGHT kind of hardened METRIC bolts. Also eagleday.com sells kits also. The hardware needed is 4.2M and 6.3m phillips pan head screwes with correct associated metric speed nuts. These are hard to find and can not be found at local hardware stores or harbor freight for that matter.
Good luck.
Good luck.

No dis to Rob - his stuff and kits are awesome.
Last time I fitted a belly pan to a car (Saturday) there are 14 screws and bolts required on 87 to 95 cars.
The two bolts are M6-1.00 x 16 IIRC.
Thats for the front belly pan and does not include the rear.

The pan helps cooling , aerodynamics and offers some protection for the accesory belts besides dropping it once a year or every 10,000 miles or so for an oil change seems reasonable.
