GT Jackson,

I'd say "**** on them" untill the make good with the other Rennlisters!

I would not ship at my own expenses. Tell them to give you a FED EX or UPS account # to charge the shipping to.

Tell Partwerks to issue UPS a call tag. It will cost them significantly more to ship it that way but UPS will come to your residence and pick up the package. There is no reason you should pay for their error.

In all fairness, I have to tell you guys I did receive my check this week from these people. It took 2 months, but now I have my money back. I won't be using them again.

Just a note on the positive side. I bought a speaker grille and the 2 rear-quarter window seals from these guys. It took 3 weeks to get here, but there are occasionally customs issues with stuff crossing the USA/Can border these days. Everything arrived, in nice shape, as advertized.

I bought one item from them on Ebay a while ago and everything was fine. It was a simple part, I can't even remember what it was at this point.

Now, PAP Auto Parts (Ebay, located in Georgia, I think) is another horrible story. Unreal.

My '79 Euro track beast wouldn't be running without Partswerks. They had a pair of the rare '83 Euro "S" cams on EBay and they took them off auction and shipped them as promised.

They aren't 100% bad. Everyone has the occasional screw-up. The test is how well they correct them.

I agree with your philosophy but I will never use them again.

Still no credit on my undelivered/cancelled items. As far as I'm concerned, they are PARTJERKS. <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

Well, I got the busted brain that Jay and I had negotiated getting me yesterday. Took it apart after the car wouldn't start, and after talking with an electronics expert friend of mine, am about ready to throw Jay a beating. What he did was completely inexcuseable and mean beyond normal limits. Take a look at <a href="http://home.attbi.com/~gq-beej/Other/junklh.htm" target="_blank">http://home.attbi.com/~gq-beej/Other/junklh.htm</a> and tell me if you guys notice anything missing. The entire Bosch daughter board, PROM, AND the friggin microprocessor have been canibalized from it, by someone who knows what they're doing. Luckily I have a trained eye to notice such damage, besides how blatantly obvious the board was stripped. I'm going to make a web page exposing my entire dealings with him, and hope to put him out of business. We all knew he was a crook, but this is just plain nasty. He gets one chance to make things good tomorrow, and then the PR fest begins. Please, don't do business with this man! All I ever wanted to do was get my brain back and experiment with it to see what I can do to make a cheap and reliable fix to the dreaded LH problem, and now I get a basket of problems handed to me from some bastard in Illinois. I'll post a link to the web page when I complete it.

This guy is an ANUS, pure and simple. I strongly urge anybody reading to stay away, even if it ends up costing you more elsewhere, you will get better parts and better customer service.

I started this post because I was getting jacked around. I got my money back, but it took two months.

Pure and simple, there was no excuse whatsoever. This guy knows what he is doing and I like to call it ripping people off.

Pesonally i have had a good service from these guys.

I bought hood hinges off Ebay, they arrived promptly and were exactly as descibed, I also bought several other small parts from them during the last year directly and they all arrived in reasonable time frame considering I am some 8000 miles from them.

If you want poor service try my local Porsche agent, I paid for 7 day! courier delivery for some injector seals and they took 3 months!

I have the only injector seals in the world that hich hiked a lift to malta from germany and stopped at every bar on the way!

Well, seems as if Jay wants to make things right now. Called him on the pieces missing and he called back later today and said that he wants the brain back and is going to buy me a used one. He says that the customer must have taken the chips out, so hes going to charge him the core charge. After 3 months or so of BSing and phone calls, I'm finally being satisfied. I can't believe its taken this long, and so many things to happen for him to actually work with me. He could have saved us both time by doing this from the start, or just giving me my LH back like I asked... Well, its done and I'm relieved. I'll still never do business with him though... I guess my experience should serve as a warning to others.

People are people, that's all. Some are organized & capable of greater tasks than others; this guy sounds good for a set of hinges, but not rebuilding brains.

There has to be a lesson here someplace. Maybe it's that the feedback from the group somehow makes it's way to the vendors, and that they respond better to a mass problem than they do to an individual one.

The "Big Three" have their fingers on (and in) the pulse of Rennlist through Marc & Susan at Devek, Wally and DR for 928 Specialists, and Jim Bailey and Mark Anderson from 928 International. Each of them works hard to maintain their good reputation here, and all are on my shopping lists. PartsWerks, Pelican, and others don't maintain the regular support presence, and are therefore down in the noise somewhere when it comes to deciding who will supply parts. Rennlist sponsorship is a plus, but the day-to-day presence makes the difference for me.

Hope all works out on the brain!
