Post Ping.....Steve C.

Steve,

Based on the discussions we have had on my auto trans 3/4 ocassional slip, would it be safe to run this car from Maryland to sharkapalooza tonight? I can adjust up and verify working pressure to the spec. you gave me before I leave, if I go. It's real close now anyway.

My instinct is that it would not hurt, since 4th is solid after shift. But could something change along the way? It is a haul from here. I've been driving to work and back with no change of condition to the worse side.

I'm not asking for a guarantee, but if something is indicated to you that it would be a really bad idea to run it this far untill we resolve the slip, please tell me to stay home.

Thanks,
Greg

I think he is referring to Sharks in the Mountains. I myself am just finishing my packing for the road trip to Banner Elk, NC to join my fellow shark owners for the Sharkapalooza tour.

Woo hoooo!

BTW, I suffered for over a year with the flare shifts between 2-3 and 3-4 without causing further damage. My unsolicited opinion is you will be fine.

86_5Tiberion,

Thanks for the input. BTW, what cured your flare-up? I really want to resolve it.

Greg,

I don’t think that you’ll do any damage to it. Make sure you don’t do any full throttle up shifts. Just crank up the pressure a little. I will post the servo procedure this Sunday. Have fun and take a lot of pictures.
