The centering lip only exists on the 78 and 79 era flywheels. The 78/79 clutches were the weakest they ever made. Even stock engines with 220 HP were able to slip them if driven too hard.
In 1980, Porsche re-engineered the twin-disk clutch and added 3 locating dowel pins, which they used from 80 to 86 in all twin-disk clutches. That is what we use too in our aluminum flywheels.
Updating from the 78/79 clutch to the 1980-85 clutch pack is a common upgrade.
