Has anyone tried one of these, price is certainly attractive. They're on ebay for $177 shipped.

Great price! I just ordered one. I'll post my remarks after I receive shipment.

Thanks for the lead, JB.

Ordered mine couple days ago...I let the special pricing slide last year. I looked on Schnell's website, IIRC, and it actually appears to be a rear bar for 911. If it fits, that's fine with me. Adjustable preload is nice. I did see it offerred at 119 or so on Ebay, but the vertex deal seems to be quite good. I don't think the heim joint looks as slick as the Intl/SP offering, but for the savings I'll take it.

Get the billett aluminum (928 Motorsports) because it is much stronger!. I can flex bend the carbon fiber one with one hand.

If your only doing it for looks then it's ok. However if you are truly trying to stiffen the suspension, it's pretty much a waste.

Abby,
You could flex bend the Schnell one with hand? Was this with it installed in the car or was the other end of the brace in a vise?

Installed. Grabed it in the middle with one hand and could flex it both ways. Can't do that with the aluminum one though, that SOB is stiff and not flexing 1/16 of an inch! SOLID!

Edit: not sure it was Schnell, however it looked just like it and came from one of the Big Three.

If someone wants their schnell flex tested, I'll be glad to do so

I'm really not sure of the brand of the one I grabbed however I think it was from Specialists..

Subjective comments are not very constructive if you are not comparing the same product.

If you are referring to 928 Spec's carbon fibre brace, they may tend to disagree.

from 928 Spec website"
"...will stiffen up the front frame and suspension even more than it already is... Weighs only 2 oz. more than the stock aluminum brace and is 2-3 times stronger. "
