My speedomter is f@#$%ing with me. It will do nothing and then suddenly decide to work. I disconnected the small (and large for that matter) connector in the spare tire well. I then sprayed de-oxit on/into both ends. I followed this with a blast of canned air and a slight crimp to the female end (small connector)BTW that connector is very hard. My crimp may not have been hard enough. results: nothing
Any thoughts? I know this has worked for some people. However, I know there are other people like myself out there. Any luck yet?

I did all the stuff you've tried and mine still doesn't want to work all the time. It only happens occasionally but if I get the speed up, 90+, it will kick in and be good for a long time, sometimes weeks. It must need a stronger pulse or something to make all the connections.

Maybe try and clean the connector where the sensor attaches to the differential?
On the 87 models, the sensor is held to the differential via a clip and bolt assembly - maybe there is dirt between them interfering with the signal pick up?
Just a thought...
