Post Now what

Just finished the a/c blower install, which went out when I fixed the tail lamp warning light problem. The blower R&R went rather well, too easy, I thought. After hood intallation and adjustment, I jumped in to take a spin and enjoy a blast of cool air. Turned on the ignition and the only lights that lit up were the turn signal indicator, the low volt meter and the master caution light. All guages and other lights inop when the car started. Turning on the left or right signal light caused the fuel gauge and speedometer needles to bounce in time with the flasher. Pressing the brake pedal causes the Tach and speedometer to rise with brake actuation. I drove around the bay and the guages magically started working, the brake light came on and went out when I tapped the brakes. Stopped the car and turned off the ignition and restarted with the same problems. I guess I need a bigger hammer.

General rule - when the electrics start doing really weird things, check the ground connections.

Thanks, gentlemen. I will double check them (all).
Sometimes solving the electrical gremlins are akin to finding a 3 to 1 beat in UH1F Huey. Does anyone know the reason(s) why we experience so much electrolysis and corrosion? Different metals used in construction of the car itself? Type or composition of wiring? Age? (surely not!)

You removed the pod for that job didn't you? If so, sounds like the middle circuit board connector on the instrument cluster may not be fully seated.

I thought that was the normal starting sequence....
Let us hear what solved it.
P.S. How's the battery charge?
