Hi,

I have this exact same problem with my 81s manual. When parking with low speeds and throttle, it stalls really easily. Somebody suggested that I look at the air inlet system for leaks......
No time to do this yet.
Anybody know if this model has an idle stabilizer?
On the topic of quick fixes, I also had a problem with making small throttle changes - it seemed to move in jumps. I went over all the throttle linkage points and joints with a WD40 spray - now I can make really small and smooth throttle changes - just like a top chauffer

Mike & Bernie,
I have an 85 5Sp with similar stalling problem at idle ocassionally when warm. I changed the temp II sensor and the idle stabilizer already but the problem is still there. I'll try to check for air leak, vac, and O2 sensor next. Hope we can find the fix soon.

Hi Pat,

Not sure about Mike, but I managed to solve that problem over a year ago! It turned out to be air leaks on my engine. I had a lot of false air entering into my engine and I also had some vacuum leaks as well.
After I repaired all of the leaks, I found that my engine would not even idle. So I brought the idle up on the throttle body and to my amazement, it was all the way to the bottom. Someone had compensated for the leaks by dropping the idle down to nothing.
The only thing that was keeping the car running at all was the idle stabilizer. Get at tracking down those pesky leaks and you will resolve this issue....

Cheers

BTW - I was a rookie when I posted on this thread. Damn, seems like so long ago that I was going through that problem.....

Cheers
