Hi All

Went to drive my 928 home from my office today and noticed something strange at top of my screen...

A narrow strip of see through plasticy stuff...about the width of half a typewriter ribbon and very thin... was hanging down directly above the centre of the drivers position (RHD) ON THE OUTSIDE of the screen...it was around 6 inches long and had dropped from under top edge of screen....I pushed it back up with a narrow bladed screwdriver, but its not going to stay up there...

Anyone any ideas what it is ???

And can I cut it off ?? when it drops again..

No leaks by the way...

Brett it likely is some silicone sealant someone put in from the inside to seal the windshield against rain ...

Nope its not sealant...its like a very thin strip of plastic....next time it falls out...I will put a piccy on here...

Brett - when I resealed The Blue Car's window, once I cut away the old black widow sealant, I found a similar little clear-white plastic rope that seemed like welt. Realized it was in fact a little bit of the welt from the headliner, apparently it had popped out some and stuck to the old sealant during install. I pushed it back up under the thin cardboard (under the headliner) as best I could and just went ahead and resealed.

Sounds like the same thing for yours, although if it's sticking out, I'd suspect that some of the black sealant has come off or started to peel away --> would indicate the sealant is begining to fail and although it may not be leaking now, it likely will. Really easy to reseal for sanity.
