Default Looking for some adjustible front shock/spring assemblies

Now that Leslie's thread has given me the itch:

I am interested in replacing my non-adjustible front shock/spring assemblies with some adjustible units. Anyone have some used units in good shape available?

Scott,

If you are going this route, look for an S car. They have the better front brakes and the adjusters. If you haev not yet changed out your aluminum ball joints then you can use the ones off the S car too. I found lower ball joints from Rock Auto for $80 each. This is the best deal I have seen.

You should be able to pick up the spindles. rotors, calipers and adjusters for around $100. Most people want the S4 suspension so the older S suspensions go wanting. The 79 front brakes are inadequate for the car and will fade on long down grades. The S brakes will greatly improve the stopping power of the car and will not fade except under extraordinary conditions.

There are people on eBay parting out the S cars all the time. They often do not do a good job of marking the suspension because they do not know what parts are valuable.

Scott

I have a pair of front struts off my GT I can send you for the adjuster rings and nuts and the other hardware that you need. I would suggest only new shocks though, never buy used, they are too much of a hasle to install to even bother with used stuff.

However if you buy boge replacement shocks you will need to then source the rest of the hardware for the install.

I'll give you my front struts for $40 which includes the lower parts that you will need for this conversion, your paying for the hardware and you can do what you like with the shocks. Or i can try and seterate them and send you just the stuff you need and trash the shocks, if your intereted let me know.
