Post Clucth Master Cylinder Build

I have read couple of things here about the "10 clutch master cylinder rebuild" but can't find any specfics. If anybody can give me some info on the procedure or point me to one I would greatly appreciate it.

I've never done it but this is how understood the proceedure.

My understanding is that a new unit is purchased and the guts removed from the pushrod end (the cast body is not used). Then from under the dash, the guts are removed from the old unit while still mounted in the car. This is done by removing clutch pedal link, and pulling the rod and boot off. Under the hood, the fluid supply hose is crimped closed to prevent draining and leakage into the interior. A circlip is accessable from under the dash that allows the guts to be pulled through the firewall into the interior and the new guts are inserted.

I replaced the whole unit for fear of bore damage in the housing. If present, that would destroy the new seals in short order. Replacing the whole unit is not fun though.
