Default Leaving the church...

Well, I'm afraid the shrine is lost. I have no one to blame but myself. So I've decided to leave the shrine business for good. If anyone would like to pick up the torch... you have my blessings.

Say it aint so.

Have you converted to another denomination? Maybe to 'Our Lady of Blessed Accelleration'?

No... With all that power, I just got tired of taking advantage of little boys and their little toys...

Uuuuhhhh, that came out all wrong.

Yikes! Very bad karma here. I thought I could feel a disturbance in the force. Be very careful Andrew.

The shrine is a very coveted thing, like the holy grail. Someone must have stolen it for its invaluable price. They know that whoever possesses the shrine hold the power to all things 928 related. I doubt you will see it again.

It will resurface in another country years from now at a museum auction for millions.

Who masterminded this shrine heist? Any clues Andrew?

This story could become like that of the Davinci Code years from now.

Of course, it might have also been destroyed by a bunch of drunken rednecks too!

PS- Sorry I missed you at the SITM, I have bad or loose front wheel bearings and a huge trip wasn't going to be a picnic with a loose feeling front end.

Andrew, you can't just drop the duties like that, there will be a curse coming down on you from the 928 gods like TBF (thrust bearing failure) or unexpected timing belt failure. Your oil will turn to blood, your air intake will fill up with hail and if you try to chase that mitsu evo in your neighborhood, your car will be struck by lightning or encounter a tsunami wave.

You gotta do it properly, you are a man of the cloth now! There must be a ceremony to hand down the duties to another person in our community.

Maybe if I hold a meet and rally day up here on Lake Champlain,(once I get my new 2 post lift installed) we can have Jay Kempf take the duties over. I am already a chaplain at the local VA hall, so I don't know if I can manage that too!

Think about all the good that has been done since the shrine: the development of supercharger and turbo kits galore, alot of people restoring or improving their cars, record numbers of people coming to meets, etc... Coincidence? I think not!

Go my Son, sew your wild oats. Experience the world with out the heavy burden and responsibility of the Shrine, and what it means to your brothers in need. Perhaps someday, when hard earned wisdom brings you back to the light, you will feel the need to pick up the mantel and continue the work you were placed on the planet to perform.

Ahhh, fluck it, who cares.

Just promise to never speak of little boys and their little toys again, and we'll call it even.

Thanks for your years of diligent service; while it lasted.

I'm just thankful that I got to visit "Mecca" to see the 928 Shrine in person this year at SITM, before it disappeared into oblivion.

You have served us all very well as the Keeper of the 928 Shrine, Sir Andrew. You will come back to the cloth and be instrumental in the building of the new Shrine, its in your blood. You cannot avoid your 928 destiny! There's no one more qualified than you to handle that important task. So take your break, take a breath, & jot down all those ideas when they come into your mind about how to build the new Shrine,.... bigger, better, & "theft protected"!

Maybe Roger could make a very large shrine out of one of the bodies on the side of his shop-the one he cut the RH rear quarter out of? With all of the hanging around a lot of us do there, we could actually all kneel in front of it when we enter and leave his compound and say a word of blessing for the 928's of the world.

Based on the subject, I thought you were getting rid of the 928.

I'm neither superstitious nor religious, so this just amounts to a bummer in my book. If I'm struck down tomorrow by TBF (or TBF, take your pick ) or a flat tire, I'll just chalk it up to coincidence. Well, maybe not the flat tire, after 5 in 17 years of driving, I think it's just my lot in life.

I forgot it on the display table at SITM. I'm sure it got picked up, but it may have been thought to be trash by an unknowing soul. In any event, if it shows up again, great. Until then, think of me as being on sabbatical.
