Default Door lock problem

Hi all,

A really niggly problem has come up on my S2 which I need to get
sorted as I have agreed to sell the car and it's going imminently...

The driver's door locks locks itself automatically - the pin just sort
of falls down. So every time you close the door having got in the car,
you need to hold it unlocked with the circular **** while opening the
door - annoying.

I don't think it's the solenoid triggering, as this occurs even with the plug disconnected from the solenoid. It feels mechanical - like the action of opening the door is "nudging" the pin down.

I read on Nichols that this can be cured by moving the lock motor fore
/ aft by undoing the 2 locating bolts, but having undone those bolts I
can't budge the motor an inch.

Can anyone help?

I have had this problem as well. Doors lock by itself and does not open unless with key and only one door. When using the central locking button on the console, doors will open and lock but will lock itself or not lock at all. Fixed it by disconnecting the rear hatch release connector. The centrla locking sort of resets itslef and works fine again. Reconnected the connctor and it fails to work again...so now left disconnected.
