Question Lasting Shine on Engine Plastic - How???

Hi Sharks:

How do I get a lasting shine on hard plastic within the engine compartment? This includes the air filter case, and radiator fan cowlings. I understand that extensive cleaning is first required. Please see my other question about engine hoses. I am wondering if ignition wire sealant will last.

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for the help. I reviewed their web site today. It looks like these guys are really good. I'll give them a call. How long has the shine lasted on various components with which specific products for you?

The only product I found at Advance and Auto-Zone today was a CD2 product for engine cleaning and shine. It is formulated for the engine compartment. Has anyone acheived lasting results with their products?

Just got my stuff Thom. So I don't know the answer to that yet. But every peice of rubber or plastic I've tried it on looks GREAT. Not that shiny silicone look but a fresh, rich, natural look. According to thier info silicone is bad ling term and it certainly doesnt make things look as good. I also bought the surflex leather softner. Put it on and wrapped up the seats as recommended. I don't know the outcome of that process yet, but every other piece of leater i've tried the stuff on has improved massively.
