Post What exactly is an 86.5 928?

Hi all, quick question:
Is the 86.5 designation simply indicative of the later 4 pot brakes, or are there other changes? My 86 hits for sale section this Saturday, and I want to have the straight story for potential buyers. I see that mine has single pot calipers but I don't know if there are other upgrades it might have or lack.

Thanks,
-Joel.

Joel,

If the VIN ends in 1000 or higher it is an 86.5 with S4 brakes and improved suspension components.

Thanks! It would be nice to have those brakes.
I will try to get them on my next 928.

Don't sweat the big brakes. Even the Rennlist race-track hot-foots suggest that there is little real-world difference for a street-driven 928.
