Default Pittsburgh Gathering 7/14-15

The Pittsburgh 928OC gathering at the Vintage Grand Prix is one month away! If you are just returning to "normal" status after the SITM 2007 - now is the time to rev up again for a new and hopefully great 928 event, in Pittsburgh (If you haven't seen this wonderful city, look at the views of it on the Golf channel this weekend - this is where the US Open is being played, at Oakmont, in an eastern suburb ). Also, we are being sponsored by the 928 Owner's Club, and the 928OC Banner will be in full display (thanks again Stan!).
The T-Shirts have been ordered (yes Kyle - you are getting 5 black, and everyone else will have red ), and I hope there are enough for everyone - be here early for yours! (those who told me in advance that they were comming are guaranteed commemorative shirts - everyone else is 1st come 1st served).
A registration form must be submitted by July 10th. You can download this form at www.arpca.com, (click on the PVGP link) which is the site to the Allegheny Region Porsche Club of America. There will also be an optional concours event here too, and you must pre-register if you want to be in that (doesn't appear to be an extra charge either).
So if you have any questions, feel free to contact me (egr@sgkpc.com). Also, pass this (and post this) along to all other 928 owners - let's try to have a strong turnout, and let the other P-car folks see our sharks! Ed

I don't know if I will have a 928 yet, but if my July schedule permits, I'll be there. I will look forward to meeting you guys.

Ed;

Scribe me in.

Who is the featured marque this year? (makes a difference in what car I'll bring)

Scott - not only are you in, but yours is one of the T-shirts on reserve!
The Marque this year is Mercedes Benz; should be alot of good examples there. Dan DelBianco, Exec Dir of the PVGP, tells me Porsche will be comming up within the next year or so.
Look forward to seeing you again...Ed

Sean - where were you? I was keeping an eye out for you, and didn't think you made it! It was indeed a great show. I took some good pics of the Lotus' all lined up on top of the hill, just for you!

Hey Ed,

I came through the 928 section twice looking for somebody who looked like an owner. The first time I guess you guys were out looking at other cars, and the second time everybody was watching a guy giving out stuff and telling jokes. I tried to get my girlfriend to take a picture of me humping your car, but she didn't think it would be very appropriate. Anyhow, it was the best car show I've ever been to, and I thank you for making me aware of it! We are planning to actually enter a car (Lotus? 928? Both!) in the show next year. Call me obsessive, but I was a little timid to bring the car up this year--I had no idea where I was going.

An easy way to post pics is to use a service like photobucket (free) and upload pics, then paste the URL into a post. Let me know if you need any help. I look forward to seeing your pics! I wish I took more, and I also wish I had a better eye for photography. Just when I think I have a great shot, it always turns out ho-hum.

Sean

Sean

Sorry we missed you. It was a great weekend, and we will do this again next year (it's always mid-July). Btw - your pics are fantastic....Kyle also posted some good ones up on the 928OC site.
