For a wanna be Porsche owner considering a used 928

1) What years were S4s made?
2) Were non-S4s available in those years as well?
3) Do the 928/928S/928S4 each have a unique VIN code?

S4s were made from 1987 to 1991. Manual transmission S4s were offered in '87-89. At the end of the '89 model year, the GT was introduced. While the GT was offered, between '89 and '91, the S4s were only offered with Automatic tranmissions. The GTs have 10 more HP than the S4s and were only available with manual transmissions.
