Default modifying a stock tach

The stock tach in the 928 (85+) draw there tach signal off only 1 of the coils, therefor the tachs read like a 4 cyl,

is there anyway to adjust the tach to read an 8 cyl pulse instead?

Will a tach from an earlier CIS car fit? Might be the easiest way of doing it, unless someone else knows of a modification.

Colin theoretically you could buy a Chevy or Ford tach, and transfer your face to it.

Call a VDO repair shop and see if it can be recalibrated ... ? They easily change 85 mph speedos to 170 mph
