Default 1979 Time Capsule

Wanted to share some pictures of the new member of the Tyson houshold.
She's a 1979 with 29k miles. Purchased today from the original owner with all paperwork including the window sticker.
Texas car all her life and had her 30k service 15 years ago and been sitting in an air conditioned garage ever since. Started every month and runs well even now.
No rub strips, no sun roof and unfortunatly she's a 5 speed with LSD. Leather seats and passenger door mirror were the other options.
She still has the original show room 928 plate on the front.
Back in 1979 shipping was $170, Leather seats $1100, LSD was $525 and the mirror $95.
Total was $31,665.00.
Needs some replacement parts and a TB & WP job.
Never had a TB replacement.

Wow Roger........congrats.

With a little TLC you may get it to 'Froggy' condition.

Very nice Roger does however remind me of Clark Gable he was infamous for dating many women that others considered unattractive. His reply was that he saw beauty where others overlooked it. My daughter is at a collector auction in Tulsa there is a red 79 5 speed 36,000 mile being sold later today she said it is a pretty nice car ! I will let you know what it gets bid up to.

She is Silver Metallic.

Jim,
"Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" you are so right.
Maybe I'm just a sucker for a nice 928.
Let me know what the red 79 goes for please?

You must have mad a typ-o because LSD was only about $10 in 1979.

Really sweet find! What's the interior look like?

Doc odds are he paid MORE for this 79 than you did for your 1990 GT Roger, Lowmiler and Wilholt sit on the extreme end of the bell curve !

That 79 auto with 60K is still available here in Missouri. Dealership has it and I saw the car today. Very nice paint, interior looks like new, and 4000 in recent work. Guards/Black phone dials no spoilers. probably can be had cheaper than I was told, since not much demand for it on the lot.
