Is it OK to jack the car on the front tow hooks?

Hi All,
As a new shark owner, I've started to look into doing some preventative maintence. After doing some searches it looks like jacking the rear and setting up some stands is easy (just use a floor jack under the rear crossmember) but the all important front end may be more difficult. Looking under the front of the shark last night, I notice my model ('86) has two tow hooks in the front. They look pretty beefy and I'm wondering if its OK to jack the car at these points. That way I could just jack there and put stands at the normal front jack points. I haven't found discussion anywhere on this. Does anyone know if this is OK?
Thanks in advance,
Don

The jack has a lift of 20", which is enough to allow car jack stands to be put under the front jacking points.
In fact the GT is in that position now (changing steering rack).
