Default VA Inspection today, silly but I failed..

I am guessing that many of you will agree,

I took the '88 to get it inspected today for our annual safety inspection. Well as the thread title states I failed. Hard to imagine actually but it did. I passed last year and as many of you know I don't drive it often.

I am sure many of you are wondering what they failed me for? Well..

A cracked steering bellow. You heard it, I failed my safety inspection for a cracked steering bellow. Cracked, still there, in 1 piece, just had a crack in it.

I am not too upset about this as looking at my front tires I REALLY needed an allignment and had put it off for a while as again I don't drive it often. I have NEVER heard of a failed inspection over a cracked bellow. So to those of you in VA make sure that your bellows are above par.

Pet 5 part # is 928-347-191-03

You should see some of the POS cars I see everyday and I wonder if their "bellows" are in pristine shape?

I think that they just saw "RED PORSCHE" and what can we possibly find..

Oh, they had a hard time opening the hood too (it's mis-alligned) and almost failed for that as well but I showed them the trick

Sorry to hear that.

I may have one or two laying around here. I forget whether it's those or CV boots that I screwed up and ordered them from two places. They're not hard to replace.

Shark Attack, last year I took it to the same place that I have taken all my cars to in the past. This year I tried somewhere different for all off them.

Thanks Matt!

I appreciate your subtle humor over the issue. HaHa or even a heh would have been fine.

Again I think that it was STUPID! Oh well, as I stated above I did get an allignment done too (woot!) I woulda thought that they woulda failed it for no front plate or a missing belt before they failed it for a cracked bellow?? WTF? BTW, Olympus has them in stock what are the odds?
