Cool

yOu KnOw somethin'....

Every car I've owned that was built in Deutchland has had the infamous "flash to pass" feature- with the exception of my shark. If I pull the right steering wheel stalk, nothing happens. If I'm on the expressway and some idiot

[I've come to the conclusion that 90% of drivers in Florida drive about as effectively as they vote~]

is sitting in the left lane at 55 mph [typical traffic speeds on Florida highways are around 80 mph/130 kmh], I have to turn the headlight **** one notch to get the lights to flash. I would think that the folks in Stuttgart would have wired the driving lights to flash with this... but of course, my grey-market car was built for Austrian roads and then modified to fit the laws here in the US by people of unknown mechanical credibility. Do any of you have the flash to pass feature?

Has anyone ever modified their car to do this?

Normy!

The delay in coming on is probably due to a high-resistance connection somewhere in the circuit. If it affects both lamps identically, it must be in the relay or in the connections between the relay and the fuses.

Since you didn't tell us what year your 928 is, we can't tell you anything else.

I believe that all 928s have the headlamp flash feature as originally built.

Same thing on my '79 Normy.

Haven't been able to track down the cause.

Cool

This is for Normy.
My '86.5 has flash ability: if I flash with the stalk for the high beams, the fog lights flash. Watch in the reflected image of your car next time you are at a stop light and behind a shiny reflective car. <img src="graemlins/wave.gif" border="0" alt="[byebye]" />
