Post South Carolina

Is SC represented here? A white early 928 was traveling south bound on I-95 around 7 PM tonight.

Got me thinking of owners around my area

Hi Pappy,

I have a Grand Prix White '85 but was not on I-95 recently. I also know of a red 85 that is a garage queen owned by Lou T. He lives in the St. Andrews side of town near Columbia.

If you are ever in Columbia, look us up. I still owe Bruce a beer so one more will be merrier.

Hey Pappy. I'm in Greer,(home of the BMW plant) in the Greenville/Spartanburg area. I haven't been on I-95, but I was on I-26 last Saturday, down in Bruce's territory. (Columbia) Had to go down for a graduation ceremony at Ft. Jackson. D*mn it was hot!!!! BTW, I saw a bronze S4 heading West on 26 at about 8am while on my way down. Not sure if he saw me or not (how could anyone miss my GT!?!?!?!?!), but I did wave.

On another note, I'm the regional contact listed in the 928 FOrum magazine, and will now be the regional rep (?) for the 928 Owners Club, so if you guys have any ideas for events, please e-mail me. I'm planning on putting on a dyno day here in Greer sometime this fall. As it stands now, the price is only $30.00 per car for the standard 3 pull dyno session, which is WAYYYY below the normal rates of most shops. Let me know if any of you in S.C (or neighboring states) are interested. We can do as many cars as time allows.

Chris,

I have been in the Spartanburg area (working) for the past 7 months! Hotel living gets old!

I will be in Greenville sometime next year.

My wife and I are very active (well, we were) and would love to participate in some events. I got lucky and married a girl that has just as much appreciation for the P-Car!

She wants a 911 though. However, the first time she stood next to a 928 and the gentleman turned the key and that roaring engine fired up... she was hooked!

Pappy

I would like to participate on the dyno deal. Pretty sure my car isn't going to surprise me as it is now. Bone stock.

Pappy, next time you get up to either Spartanburg or Greenville give me a call. I'm located very close to the BMW plant just off of I-85. Number is 864-968-2668. We can grab a cold beer or three.

My wife is into the 928's almost as much as I am. She is even willing to help me when I need an extra set of hands wrenching.

As far as the dyno goes, it's still a fun activity, and pretty cheap too at this price. It also doesn't hurt to know what you are really putting down. You might be pleasantly suprised.

There are several 928 folks in the Charlotte area, and a pretty large group in Atlanta also. I hope to get a few to come out and play. What would be REALLY great, is to have the dyno session on the morning of October 19th, then drive over to the BMW plant for EuroFest. A whole line of 928's pulling in to the place and proudly displaying them would really turn some heads. I've been to the last 3, as have some of the other southeastern 928'ers. It's a great car show with hundreds of fantastic cars from any and all European marques. If I can get enough interest out of the 928 community for that weekend then I will set it up. Any rate, teke care, and keep in touch.

Chris, Sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe we can get these lazy Atlanta guys to make the trip?
ps. Hope you've stayed off the curbs lately.

Hey Ed. Yes, luckily I've stayed off the curbs. :-) I'm trying to spare those 2 new wheels.

I would really like to see a good turnout for my proposed dyno day. I will post a thread specifically on it in the near future. At $30 a pop, it's hard to turn down. Most shops charge anywhere from $65-$100 for the same service. Plus, you get the EuroFest event, which is great. Some of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen in person. Most I only get to see in magazines, or in someone's collection. Lots o fun!!!!! I take it you're interested????

Yes I am! I need to get in contact with John Pirtle and the others from Atlanta since we are due to try to get together again. I know you were invited to the past two get togethers maybe you can make it this time. The dyno would be interesting even though mine is stock except for 19# ford injectors and rrfpr.

Cool

-I saw a black late model [S4 or GT] with South Carolina tags driving through Asheville Monday afternoon....anybody from the Renn?

This person was moving, too. Not fast- moving house. The back end of the car was so laden that it was nearly dragging the ground!

I-95 northbound today, about noon, just south of Savannah. Dark silver '85 or '86, maroon interior, with some sort of odd red and white South Carolina tags, like "12344"......
