Mike Vance (Killav) and I skipped the tech session on Sunday and drove all the way back averaging 78 overall or 89 while driving. Slept well in my own bed Sunday night but not fatigued. Ed Hughes and I spoke by phone several times along the way about a couple of real standouts. LOL

I had a great time and the Stepson performed flawlessly once I made some of the temporary fixes permanent. Cannot wait for next year.

I loved the event, thank you so much Dave and Jeannie and Pam.

The Dragon was fun except I was not driving my Godzilla, but it was good to meet my gorgeous new Midnight Blue over Light Grey '94 GTS auto. Thanks again Dave ... To me, the greatest part of the experience outside seeing a part of the US that I had not before, was the many friends that I have known for years on Rennlist, but had not met before. I won't mention names, because you guys know who you are and I don't want to not mention all of you. Andrew, thank you so much for rooming with me. Risky Biz, I owe you a heart-felt hug for trusting me with your most gorgeous Porsche, and putting up with my average driving and South African humour. No, I still don't like Jimmy Buffet, sorry

Roger, your and Zane's hospitality in taking me into your home made me feel like a member of your family ... YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!!!

I saw some of trhe best-cared-for 928's I have ever seen this weekend, you guys are definitely a cut above us Pacific Northwesteners in your diligence and attention to detail. In this regard I must mention Paul and Linda Champagne and Jim Mayzurk, your combined work IMHO cannot be surpassed. The Robertses deserve honourable mention here for their supercharger developments, as does Tim Murphy (btw one of the honest-to-goodness kindest, least selfish men I have met). You haven't lived till you've sat in Jim Mayzurk's GTS with his custom rear seat stowage (etc) and Champagne sewn sport seats with leather Porsche lettering inserts with custom door and seatback storage pockets. Cheers and thanks to Marc White and his lovely Terri for the 928 Owners' Club's generous support and genuinely kind attitude. Sucks that Marc elected to not wear his but-displaying shorts this time.

Honourable mention goes to the Texas crowd who were a pleasure to drive with and get to know. I made some life-long friends with you guys/gals!! You are welcome in Seattle in my home any day. It was a pleasure to see my friends from Vegas and Florida also. MGW-Fla, you and Pam and Fabio are equally welcome in my home any day of any year

Kim (Risky Biz) I do apologise for essentially destroying Risky's suspension in the Dragon, but hell was that fun .... PoPo, you are a great guy, despite your being a cop Btw the cops in these parts are a LOT nicer than Seattle. Not in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever see a ranger PULL OVER to allow speeding 928's to pass on the Dragon. WOW. However, the several BILLION semi's that drove shoulder-to-shoulder along the freeway .... I can definitely live without, and now I have renewed love for Seattle freeways, where those hardly exist ....

What the hell, let me mention more friends I enjoyed meeting in person for the first time (in addition to those mentioned above, and those I had met before):
WallyP; Earl Gilstrom; EdMD; Constantine; auzivision; Flott Leben; Worf928; Flying Dog; EW928; Rixter; ScottM; Goodspeed928; Jack Riffle; Brett Jenkins; Tomcat; Mark; Bus; Randy Carter; 928andrc51; several Daves that I can't keep straight; a couple of Mikes and a couple of Marks; Sias928; DaveO90S4; hans14914; KY928; Paul (let's call him Bacchus); Checkmate; Cambioinc; 928S-on-your-back-door. Of course I forgot some at this moment, but I enjoyed meeting and hanging out with you all!!!!

Heinrich

So glad the second memory card didn't fry itself. A few pics.

Concours winner and second Cassisrot in the distance. Cat's Cassisrot 928 was also present bringing total to 3 Cassisrot on one field.

Gio brought his wonderful SC special.

Who's that handsome fella?
Hint: he's from Seattle and rode in with the Texas Gang.

Tim excercising massive restraint. (Note complete lack of tire smoke)

Morning after at the hotel. Hope they drank the beer and not the Super Blue.

Uhhh, actually, there were 4 Cassisrot there this weekend. Mine is the one far away, there was another one further down the row from the winner, and I think Cat's was on the other side of the dining awning....

H_man was there and I did not get to meet him. Life sucks. Well, life sucks for the next 360 days anyways.

Gio,
You were too busy terrorizing the local roads.

Actually I had met the fantastic Texas gang 2 years ago so I deliberately sought them out. Lucky for me Rsky Biz brought along a chauffeur.

I know the wire across the top and the road lines are screwed up, but I can't get the stitching program to fix them and I'm too lazy to Photoshop them.

I've had a few requests for this picture. Feel free to download it as long as you don't use it for commercial purposes.
