Are the front seat backs interchangeable? My passenger side is cleaner and nicer, and if they can be switched out it would extend the life of each by halting the bolster wear on driver's seat.
(Both are 12-way heated "comfort" seats on my car, so identical in that respect)

Your seat back heater element might plug into the inboard side on each seat, which might cause a problem if you move the seat backs from one side to the other, but other than that, I think they're pretty much symmetrical.

Arguably it would extend the life of the now tired looking drivers seat and shorten the life of the probably pristine passenger seat. A better solution would be to replace the side bolsters of the drivers seat now ?

Tom,
IF you decide to replace the bolsters, There is a guy in the Dallas area that does great work, and very inexpensive. The Dallas 928ers (Roger T, Jim M) can tell you more about him and his work.
