Post OT Jeremy McGrath has retired

This is sort of OT, but not so far since this is renn list and there are many motorcyclists here. I just read that McGrath has retired. It says volumes about the physical demands of the sport. Farwell Showtime.

Since I race motocross, I keep up with what's going on, and yeah, it's too bad. I was hoping his new KTM ride would inspire him, but I guess he doesn't have it anymore as he found out in Europe's supercross.

I was so happy when Ricky Carmichael finally started beating him a year and a half ago since until that point in time, MC just dominated for 7 straight years, and made it almost boring.

Unfortunately, now it looks like Ricky is going to do the same thing, killing everybody.

Let's hope Pastrana screws his head on straight, Chad Reed gets a little more agressive, and Langston is fully recovered from his injuries.

Otherwise, it will be the Ricky show again, just like it used to be the MC show. If that's the case, we'll just have to wait for Bubba to go to the 250's!

I think Bubba can give Ricky a good race right now...

Are you a racer?

SRV,
I raced SX for one summer, 2001. I had never ridden a MX bike until 10 or so months before that. A year later I am old and dried up at 31.
I love the sport but have no time to practice or keep in shape.

Nod I feel every year of my 34 years when i take my bike out. But what a rush when its cold rainy muddy and the shark is tucked into its cozy parking spot. I load up the baike into the truck and head for the track and woods. Come back wet dirty and very sore. Got to love that.

Thurston.

Old and dried up at 31? Wow, I wonder where that leaves me at 41!

Yeah, one definitely has to pay a price if they want to have fun motocrossing.

I work out every day after work just so that I'm able to hang onto the bike for 5 laps at a time. Plus, we try to make it to the track at least one time a week for practice.

It definitely takes time and you do get beat up, but it gets me outside and away from all the programming I love to do.

And what a total blast!!

Hey, don't forget, Anaheim Supercross is tonight and you can catch the Webcast of it here:
