Door Lock Doesn't
Hey all,
The exterior driver's side lock on my '79 does not disengage the lock assembly when I insert the key and turn it. The lock mechanism just turns and turns.
Any thoughts on what I need to fix it. I haven't taken the door panel off to look at it yet, but thought if this was a common problem I could order the part(s) today and have it on hand when I do the repair. Awhile back I replaced the exterior door latch actuator assembly that had broken on that side - now this.
I was planning on ordering some stuff from 928 Specialists today, so I might as well add that to the order.
Thanks.

Randy,
I don't remember any common failures that would give those results - any possibility that one of the clips has fallen off the lock from the earlier work?

That's what David suggested when I spoke with him yesterday Wally. I ordered a replacement clip (just a couple bucks) in case I discover that the clip is broken when I explore in there further.
Thanks.
Thanks.
