88 928 Power Mirrors
I have 1988 Porsche 928 S4 that the power mirros will work side to side and up but it will not adjust the mirror down? I can hear the motor running but it will not go down what so ever. I do not see anything blocking or any type of grinding sound it just sounds like it fell of its track. Are there any write up's so I can figure out whats going on? Does the mirror glass pop right off?

Probably one of the motor connecting tabs is broken.
First step is to remove the mirror glass, but it's hard to describe how to do it.
Under the mirror housing you will see a small hole. if you look up into that hole you will see a few 'notches' in the black plastic mirror base.
You need to get a small screwdriver into a notch, then move the notch *towards* the door/window.
When you turn the mounting base enough, the mirror assembly pulls off the mount.

yes the glass pops off but only after you release the turning clamp. Look under the mirror for a small hole, insert a tiny straight blade and move the ring (cant remember which direction but its only one way). The glass then comes out and you can see the motors.

Nope.........but a fellow 'Lister made his work from parts off of my old flag mirror. Get yours apart, figure out whats wrong and what parts you need and we''ll take it from there.........I still have some spares when I upgraded to the Aeros.
BTW, another alternative is to replace the whole mirror assembly.........check out those prices!!!
