Hello All,
I am the proud papa of a 1982 Weissach edition shark (purchased a month and a half ago) and although I absolutely love the car, I haven't been able to completely put her through the paces because my speedo/odo are dead. I have read a couple of old threads pertaining to this prob, but I'm wondering if someone could start me in the right direction as far as troubleshooting goes, is there a procedure any of you have seen/used to track down this problem?
I appreciate any help you can provide and I can't wait to get this speedo fixed so I can get a better idea of how she performs! Thanks!

Wilcomen,
Welcome aboard!
Same problem, replaced the 4 way plug in the rear with a tight fitting trailer connector, flat type.
It helped for awhile, but still, if I romped on it she would peg. When I hit 80mph no matter how long I take to get there she vacillates then pegs
Prior to the connector swap I snugged things up at the sending unit and crimped-lightly- the old 4 way connector. This also helped for awhile butthe needle still wobbled all over.
My next shot is replacing the PCB -printed circut board- $55.00 and finally, rebuild the speedo/odo unit.
Let you know.
John S. 82' Weissach, Auto. 'Pattycakes'
BTW Figure 60mph at 2000 in 3rd (AUTO)or approx. 3k in 2nd. 2nd is awesome

Gee, Why is Wally so Brilliant? My speedomter/odometer quit. Did a little search and behold, through Wisdom by Wally, the connector was the first thing I checked . (and the right one). Search is my friend......![bowdown](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bowdown.gif)
