Front rotors are past due replacing & that nice gentleman on eBay just sold me a set of Zimmermans for an '89 S4 at a great price.
PO included a set of Mintex red box pads when we made the deal & I planned to install them. However, a previous string comparing the various alternative brake pads made my head swim.
So I thought the best bet would be to use the OEM pad (Pagid?). Fortunately, my nonconformist nature quickly took over.
I've used Porterfield R4-S carbon kevlar pads in the past (Acura Legend, Ford Excursion Diesel, Jag Mk II Sedan) & have been VERY happy with them...great bite, no-squeal, little dust.
Anyone out there have experience with the R4-S in street use on a 928?
Thanks,
Hawkeyes

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

Well, looks like no one here has tried the Porterfield R4-S, so I'll be the the Porterfield brakes beta!
I'll install them next week, along with new rotors & wheel bearings.
Was thinking about painting the calipers...they are dark blue/black now & would like something that stands out a bit more (not red). Have any of you painted your calipers? Will the paint hold up like OEM?
Thanks,
Hawkeyes
