Post RADIATOR LEAK

HI ALL,

MY RADIATOR IS LEAKING WHERE THE ALUMINUM AND AND PLASTIC SECTION MEET I THINK IT MUST BE THE GASKET BETWEEN BOTH SECTIONS. THE QUESTION IS? IS IT POSSIBLE TO REPLACE THE GASKET FOR A NOVICE MECHANIC. ANY EXPERIENCE OR INSIGHT WOULD BE APPRECIATED

THANKS
TEEMO

Hi, Teemo!

First, two comments:
1) DON'T SHOUT!
2) Always, every time, tell us what year your 928 is - it usually makes more difference than it did this time. Easiest way is to put it in your signature file - that way, you never forget it.

Yes, it is possible for a novice to replace the radiator tank gasket - but ....

The tank is held on by bent-over aluminum tabs. If you break too many off, the radiator is junk. If the tabs get bent too many times, they break no matter how experienced you are, so you get only a few repairs.

You might want to consider finding a good radiator shop in your area, and taking them the radiator. Let them change the seal, and clean and check the radiator while they do.
