Kevin,
Be fair. How many gallons of gas? Average mpg?
BTW, iirc, 75.3mph just edges out Brock Yates' and Dan Gurney's average in the first Cannonball Baker memorial Sea-to-Shining-Sea Dash. They were driving a Ferrari Daytona. Nice company.
Fun, fun, fun. Color me the same as your car, with jealousy.
BTW, that good old boy in Rosinton likely'd beat y'all in a banjo duel, yup. ('Course, maybe he was splitting the station's proceeds with his brand-new ex-wife. ;-)

Well let's see...
Assuming an average cost-per-gallon of gas at $3.81, $523.76 in gas purchases works out to 137.47 gallons of fuel.
So, 2,787 miles travelled divided by 137.47 equals 20.27 mpg. Right?
I dunno what an '85 should be getting, but that sounds respectable. Let us know, Kevin!
Sounds like it was a great trip. Welcome home!

Unfortunately we bought 150 gallons of gas at an average price of $3.47 and an MPG of 18.5 (until Needles the most we paid was $3.77.) I'd like to think we'll get better in the future as we spent a fair amount of the trip trying to get the novelty of the kick down rush to wear off (haha as if.) Also we spent most of the time traveling into a decent amount of headwind which couldn't have helped.

My first set of tires, which were brand new, only lasted 7k miles!!

Hey....
I'll be doing similar in June. Picking up 86.5 (just purchased and prep'd at Deveks) from Oakland and driving to Maryland. No A/C. That would have trippled ~1k prep costs. Planning to shift driving to early morning hours. Will arrive with teenage son, both in shorts and sweaty T-shirt I'm sure.

Mike,
Are you planning on using I80 or I40 for your drive?
I don't know if you remember, but I drove your car when it was up for auction the first time - it's an awesome runner, congrats. I definitely have brake-envy....
