till you get new mounts try cutting some rubber ,
and then jack up the trans and slide the rubber piece into the opening in the mount,
then lower the trans.
if you like the fit,
remove the rubber and put some glue on it then refit it and lower the trans

Might pick up a hockey puck and cut a pair of strips out of the center. Or...just order new mounts and do it right. I am curious to see if sticking a piece of hockey puck in the hole would help...but time is valuable and I'd rather just do it right and be done.... well, I've got a slight (few drops after shutdown) ATF leak at the TC grate. I am contemplating dropping the trans and trying to replace the TC bearings and whatever seals are likely causing the leak...then putting it all back with the new mounts. We'll see...I know it would be a perfect time to rebuild the TT. Ahhh...love the slippery slope.

Having done most of this myself it is a very thorough and most excellent write up.

I saw Schocki's thread this morning. Quite impressive...and intimidating job. I can drop the transmission and take it to a shop that did a great job rebuilding another member's automatic. I am not sure I want to open it up and work inside it myself. Tasks like these look overwhelming in the beginning. But if broken down in to smaller chunks things become less intimidating. We'll see....
