Yep, see you all there.......
Andrew, I was wondering when you were going to bring that up....... !
Ernest, you shamed me into a membership, and now I feel much better....
Waiting for my membership number, so don't know if this will still show me as still just a user or not.....
Dave, ..... glad it didn't end up being my LH Brain..... Whew....!
Should have NEW ignition wires tomorrow, and then I'll just have the couple hour job of changing them...... Looks like I'm not going to have time to wax the beast though....
Best, and thanks again......
Greg

Just, an update if anyone's interested....
Well, right before SITM, I’d had my intake off to fix the Throttle Position Sensor….. Anyway, it had also had acted-up as if it was only running on 4 cylinders a couple times, and I’d went through a bunch of stuff to find a bad drivers side coil wire.
(Much help from the list here helped also…. Thanks fellas….)
Seemed okay, but still seemed to be missing a little, and down on power from before all this…..
Finally got new plug wires, and they didn’t fix the miss as I’d hoped they would……
So, the other day I did a vacuum check and it was low and steady at 17-ish hg, then I pressurized the intake and found I had massive leakage….
I couldn’t pin-point it other than blowing smoke in it to see it was coming from underneath, so I pulled the intake yesterday and found the hose that goes from the Idle Stabilizer to the MAF rubber elbow had a big split at the Idle Stabilizer connection….. It was split wide open from the hose-end back about an inch…… (Actually, I can’t believe it wasn’t running much worse and that it even idled okay..)
This is weird though, because I’m certain it was fine when I put the intake all back together. I even did a quick bench pressure test of the intake the day before I put it on….. It must’ve just “decided” it was “tired” after that…….
So, the good news is that I’m pretty darn certain this is slight missing problem will be solved…!
Waiting for hose, etc….. Also sent injectors out for servicing……
Debating replacing the Hall Sender….? I believe it’s probably okay, but the connector is brittle as can be and I had to repair it previously……
Still trying to understand its function, but the best I can figure is the DME needs a TDC signal and gets that from the Crank Position Sensor, but it also needs to know it’s on the compression stroke, and it gets that from the Hall Sender, since it’s reading the cam......
Best to all,

Greg: your ride height looks waaaay too low on the GT. Have you checked it recently? Don't risk a bad grounding that wrecks the front spoiler or even oil pan.

Something like this, Greg?:

Seems to be a fairly common problem.

The hall sensor allows the ignition brain to determine which cylinder is knocking and retard the timing to THAT cylinder however if it is not working the brain retards ALL THE CYLINDERS by 6 degrees which kills the performance..... same with bad knock sensors to save the engine the brain retard the timing to ALL CYLINDERS when they no longer work.

Jim, Thanks for clarifying the hall sensor function...... I appreciate your big brain when it comes to these cars,........ and taking the time to share......

Best,
