What is the normal operating temp.
... true ... a '90 would not have a 9 o' clock position huh I guess i meant "middle of the gauge"

Ive learned not to trust the stock guage a while ago on a previous car when the amber zone lit up in traffic when the needle was only sitting at the "9 oclock" postion. For the weather i get here in the summer the aftermarket stuff i installed is peace of mind.
These pics were taken one after another. Typical drive around town, stop and go, on a 90-95'f day outside.
The water temp sensor is tapped into the cross over manifold on the front...not 1" away from the stock sensor.
The oil temp is part of the drain plug.

The 928 gauges may not be too accurate, but at least they tell you something. And there are warning lights.
I have a Ford F150 with gauges and Ford had so many questions about gauge fluctiation that they hooked the oil pressure gauge to a warning light sender. That way the gauge always reads in the center if there is oil pressure. If you loose oil pressure then the gauge goes to 0. There is NO oil pressure warning light, or any other warning lights. And Ford wonders why they are loosing business. I tried to replace the oil pressure sender with a gauge sender but there is not enough clearance for the larger diameter gauge sender.
