Is it OK to powerwash a cylinder head?

The "new-to-me" cylinder head that I'm using needs a good cleaning. I've removed everything but the valves/springs and the exhaust manifold studs. Would it harm anything to pressure wash the cylinder head with Simple Green or another similar product? I'm primarily concerned with the formation of rust or corrosion.
What's the proper way to remove exhaust manifold studs? There's nothing to grip and I don't want to chew them up with vice grips.
Also...is there a trick to removing the exhaust manifold gasket rings? One of them looks old and doesn't want to come out.

I dont see aything wrong with simple green and water. Just lastnight I gave my heads a bath. Mine were bare so they were easier to dry. I would suggest you blow them out with air to get all the water out once you are finished though. For the studs you can either double nut them or use a stud remover, I bought one at harbor freignt awhile back for $4 of something, it works great.
For the rings i would use small metal picks, you just need to gently pry them out they shouldnt be attached with anything, they are just squished against the inside on the recess.

Do you have an air compressor? After you power wash it, use the air compressor to blow dry it and blow all the water/moisture out of the ports, etc.
You might be able to remove the exhaust studs if you double nut them. (Soak in penetrating oil first)

After washing and blow dry you may also want to warm it up in the oven to dispell the last of the moisture.
May cost you little in diversion $$$ to the SO but well worth it.
2Xnut the studs and if you've an old set of inside calipers use them to pry out the seals.
